Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It wasn't murder. it was a fucking public service. pollination is very bad for the world and his very existence polluted the world.

[–] benjirenji@slrpnk.net 20 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Pollination is the action of spreading pollen and fertilize other flowers and trees. It's actually very good for the world.

[–] TransNeko@lemmy.world 0 points 6 hours ago

corporations have patented plants with pollen that spreads. they use this pollen to force farmers and other plant growers to pay them fees... even for something as simple as cross contamination.

Don't use nazi talking points to pollinate, that's pollution, cancer, even.

The only conservative nut bag with good aim. Are we sure Erikkka didn't pay him to off her husband???

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

So she could be with J.D.? Hell... maybe J.D. was behind it all, lol

[–] kossa@feddit.org 4 points 16 hours ago

Unlikely, she ain't no couch.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 17 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Cool, it goes to trial then. Maybe his fucked-up wife will testify. That should be quite a show.

Also, this guy deserves max sentence assuming he's convicted. The enemy of my enemy is not my friend in this case.

The greater of two evils who just decided to eat the lesser

The chuds are going to be so mad!

Before anyone goes vouching for this guy, my understanding is that he didn't see Kirk as pure enough ideologically, IE he wasn't Nazi enough.

[–] Endgame@lemmy.world 13 points 19 hours ago (3 children)

Correct. He was a Groyper. A Nick Fuentes brand Nazi.

Fuentes and Kirk had a feud.

Fascist infighting is a very real phenomenon Americans aren't taught enough about because talking about how the Nazis were in fact murdering each other to rise through the ranks undermines the narrative that "The Nazis were owning everyone..... until America swooped in and saved the day! Oh yeah!"

Truth is, Nazi infighting contributed more to the downfall of Nazi Germany than America did.

[–] luciferofastora@feddit.org 1 points 12 hours ago

Fascist infighting is a very real phenomenon Americans aren't taught enough about

Honestly, that's really just ideological fracturing, scaled up with the degree of radicalisation and readiness to do violence. The more you're willing to kill the opposition, the more likely you're willing to also target perceived opposition in your own ranks.

That infighting is probably more visible to us on the left because we see it all the time, while the right wing's propagandists manage to project an image of unity. Charlie getting Kirked is an example of that facade cracking.

Good.

Fascist infighting is a very real phenomenon

That should be encouraged.

This is why we need to understand that you always punch Nazis. I'm tired of cajoling to mods and pretending "fReE sPeEcH" makes Nazis tolerable just to keep from being banned.

Hopefully that's just my nascent trauma from reddit and I won't get banned here, lol

[–] 0x0@lemmy.zip 1 points 12 hours ago

“fReE sPeEcH” makes Nazis tolerable

Which is a risk.

[–] JamesTBagg@lemmy.world 6 points 23 hours ago

He doesn't need to be a saint for it to be apparent he's a fall guy. Based on what the FBI has told us it's obvious this guy didn't do it.

[–] SCmSTR@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 15 hours ago

Should plead guilty to fighting for freedom and killin nazis: the true American values. And then spit on the ground every time they say a nazi name.

"... Charlie Kirk..."

Spits on ground

I thought killing Nazis was one of the great American pastimes though? I feel that this was a concrete step towards Making America Great Again.

[–] Endgame@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Killing Nazis was a favorite pastime of the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany. (Fascism encourages killing one's own allies to rise through the ranks or to "cull the weak".)

America just showed up late to massacre Japanese civilians (We killed more with normal bombs than with the nukes.), let most of the actual Japanese war criminals in power go, and then claimed we were the ones that killed the Nazis.

Don't forget the entire cities we set on fire.

Sometimes I really hate the propaganda machine I grew up in
