Sega should sue them for intellectual property violation, given that the MAGA-ized logo still has the SEGA shout.

I would have snorted coffee out my nose if i read that earlier today (or tomorrow morning)

I like the cut of your jib ⛵

Sega never goes after their fans for their fangames, but they could bring the whole "Genesis does what Nintendon't" full circle and attempt to sue the Trump admin...

Though given Sega's dogshit legal skills with regards to Archie and Ken Penders, they might as well just ignore it.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Ken Penders didn't actually win the lawsuit, they settled out of court, he won publishing rights to some of the Archie Comics. He does not actually own Scourge The Hedgehog, Sally Acorn, or any other Sonic character, the reason Sega doesn't use those characters is because Sega doesn't want them used.

[–] lemmyng@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I know Penders didn't win the lawsuit, it was moreso Sega and Archie's incompetence when it came to organizing rights for character creation and archving important legal documents pertaining to the ownership of licensed IP that allowed Penders and other Archie Sonic writers to walk off with their legally dubious OCs.

[–] QueenHawlSera@piefed.social 1 points 5 days ago

Ken doesn't own any Sonic characters though.

Can someone just shoot me in the head? This planet's save file has become corrupt, and I no longer wish to be on this planet.

An acorn should be enough.

[–] DaveyRocket@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

He’s got an acorn!

I'd rather play Wolfenstein 3D and kill MechaHitler

[–] SailorFuzz@lemmy.world 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

A new low I didn't know was possible.

[–] riskable@programming.dev 10 points 1 week ago

Way lower than 8-bit. This is 2-bit villainy.

[–] Fandangalo@lemmy.world 41 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I didn’t think I could hate it more, and then I saw the screenshot. I fucking hate this whole thing.

[–] Hackworth@piefed.ca 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Also, someone vibe coded all that shit in an afternoon.

[–] Fandangalo@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago

Absolutely. I work in the industry, and one of my predictions for the coming years is a further commercialization of games as the cost of development falls, either the actual dev or just plain entrance cost. More places will make micro games to sell things, like mobile game ads for every day businesses. I was saying to my wife, I expect politicians and weirder avenues to take up games as a means of engaging with audiences.

I sincerely hate that this is one of the first examples of what I imagined.

8-bit favorites, including Flappy Bird... and other classics originals [sic]

How about those Epstein files?

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 7 points 1 week ago

The files are at the end of the Flappy Bird clone

Heinous vile diseased filth, everyone that voted this sewage into the presidency.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Sitouts: are we a joke to you?

I bet absolutely no AI was used in this.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm not clicking that shit

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I didn't click it either, but now I'm wondering if I'm going to get put on a watch list for not clicking it.

[–] mrmisses@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

If you're not on a watch list at this point you're probably a bootlicking fascist

[–] ouRKaoS@lemmy.today 3 points 1 week ago

I'm probably on a watch list for being on too many watch lists

[–] takeda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

If you would click on it, you would realize quickly that this is created just to generate outrage, for example the Tetris game is not even playable.

Ro Khana and Massie have another discharge petition regarding Epstein files, and they want provide media something else to be outraged about.

Now he's gone too far.

I wonder what would happen if someone were to release the exact same games, but Trump and his cronies were the victims.
