[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 hour ago

[–] dektep@lemmy.world 27 points 6 hours ago

such honesty is refreshing

[–] rekabis@lemmy.ca 20 points 8 hours ago

That is maybe the most Aussie text chat I have seen in a damn long time.

[–] BitUnWise@programming.dev 19 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

What happened to the image? the white text on a green background is barely visible

[–] logi@lemmy.world 19 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

JPEG happened. That should always have been a PNG.

[–] Equinox1289@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

JPEG XL will be here soon. The next set of browser releases, so even lossy images won't continually reduce into a blocky mess of sine waves.

I feel like that xkcd about standards fits here pretty well

Some guys are so insecure and dumb that they think fermented barley and water is more manly and tough than fermented apples and water.

[–] HerbGrower@slrpnk.net 5 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

What about fermented berries and honey?

Mead is Viking drink, must be manly! But berries add fruity flavours and colours that are girly.

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 2 points 19 minutes ago

Nothing more manly than a man drinking a fruity drink and enjoying himself.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 80 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Well they're not beers are they mate

(Disclaimer: I hate beer)

They're delicious and I drink too many

[–] JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca 7 points 12 hours ago

Hangover juice

[–] FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

In some countries Ciders are nonalcoholic or dilluted alcohol.

[–] SirActionSack@aussie.zone 16 points 10 hours ago

In this case it's just some bogan implying that drinking cider makes you less of a man.

I am steadily liking Australia more and more over the past decade.

I like Kyle.

[–] en1gma@lemmy.ml 54 points 16 hours ago

You can’t have that honest conversation with an AI bot. Things we have lost.

[–] gigastasio@sh.itjust.works 28 points 15 hours ago

Kyle is a real one.

Is this the Australian/Southern Ontario, Canada Venn diagram overlap?

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 6 points 15 hours ago (5 children)

Is it normal for carriers to text their customers?

[–] dektep@lemmy.world 2 points 6 hours ago

almost daily in Thai 🇹🇭

[–] OriginalTangle@feddit.org 2 points 9 hours ago

It should be. But instead you would get "thank you for getting back to me" oftentimes.

[–] TragicNotCute@lemmy.world 14 points 14 hours ago

Yes. They text you promotions, when you go somewhere new and different rules are in affect, and you can often get basic support via text as well.

[–] Nihilore@quokk.au 4 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Did you genuinely look at this image and then assume it was real?

[–] undefined@lemmy.hogru.ch 3 points 11 hours ago

What about my comment led you to that conclusion?

I’m more curious if it’s normal in other places to even have people from the carrier just casually texting customers.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 7 points 14 hours ago

mine texts me once a month or so about promotions or updates on legal stuff in my country

usually that shit pisses me off but it happens so infrequently or is actually good info that I don't mind it
