That card isn't particularly modern, so it could just be any area with a concentration of offices really.
it's an old 1050, not very valuable. It still fits my purpose, but pretty useless other than that I think.
Out of curiosity, what made you choose Blue Iris over Frigate? Not trying to start a debate or anything, genuinely curious.
I think back in 2021 blue iris was more mature and well supported, with a better camera compatibility. May be things have changed now with frigate?
Makes sense. Frigate has definitely made a drastic improvement over the last couple of years, yeah.
What card is this and how does it assist blue iris?
I haven't delved into local AI yet, but as long as it has CUDA cores it should be able to help with computing, no ? Not sure if very old ones would perform better than a recent CPU though
The problem is going to driver support. That thing is gonna be stuck on cuda 10 or 11
Yes, but still better for $35 than what I had before though.
This is GTX1050 and has 2gb ram. Not the best card, but for my blue iris running computer (hp elitedesk g2 i7 6700k and 32gb ram), this is the card that I can run without any extra power supply requirements. Blue iris has AI built in, and if you tell it to use a gpu to perform those ai analysis of objects (person detected, vehicle detected, animal detected, etc). It'll make the work faster and more accurate.

That happens too, you need to tweak the confidence settings. Sometimes there's nothing you can do except physical changes though.
Yeah I love getting notified of animal sighting and there is an overlap so I set it more permissive so I can get animal sightings.
yeah we have some deer in the woods nearby, so it's always nice to see them in the camera, although it classifies them as dogs always lol

You shoukd have picked that Akai MPD218 if it was cheap. Get your finger drumming and sample based tracks going.
