An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

https://dullmensclub.com/

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I'd like to try that 13 months one. Still correct in number of days of the year, just aligned a little differently.

Moved out alone? Then absolutely "Hot Firefighter Guys" calendar (as a jape, funny for straights and gays alike). If it is poorly received you can have a backup Sport's Illustrated girl calendar ready to soften the blow of his solitude.

Moved in with a partner? Get a large format poster size calendar with ample room for people trying to figure it out and working with other people's schedules. Include black sharpies with this one.

Try getting a whiteboard calendar. We had one that was just one month and it got a lot of mileage in our household. Underneath was a second blank whiteboard that was roughly the same size. We used that one to write down dates of events that weren't in the current month. Both of the whiteboards had a lot of space for writing stuff down.

You'll want to clean it off every few months with isopropyl alcohol. When I cleaned it I would take a picture beforehand and write everything back down again.

Best part? You'll only need to buy the whiteboards once.

The absolute best calendar I ever had was the free one from the welding supply company AirGas. Truly stunning photography of hot welding action. And the calendar itself was chock full of useful info like week numbers, holidays in the USA, Canada, and beyond. And overall, it was a large format that's suitable for marking up and handwriting entries.

I'm only sorry that I wasn't able to get the 2026 version due to business sending me away during January.

According to whencanireusethiscalendar.com, for 2027, you could rustle up a classic nude calendar from 1999, a popular era for them, or something completely random like this.
