Absolutely. I’ve burned a number of things to the ground as I figure out what tf I’m doing. I’ve learned a lot doing it too!

Totally agree. Have been there and done that quite a few times too.
I did this today. Was trying to get a searxng instance running on oracle cloud’s free tier, but it’s so doggedly slow between OS, docker, searxng, that it’s useless and locks up all the time.
And their free ARM option never has availability so I just deleted the instance and started a new one with great speed to burn through my free credits.
Don't use anything Samba unless you absolutely have to because of Windows. Its a shit protocol.
It is fairly use friendly and doesn't have the same permission issues as NFS. Its slow but it works fine.
While I agree, I do run a Windows gaming PC so Samba is the best thing for it. I've passed FTP through hoping for better speeds but, while I can see my stuff I can't interact with them.
Also, that's just like, your opinion man.
That rug really tied the room together.
You can use NFS on Windows
I can, but as I say, the way I've done it doesn't work. On windows at least, it works on my phone.
Unless you're using the horribly outdated and insecure v1, there's nothing wrong with Samba at all. For serving media it's just as fast as NFS and is often plain easier to get going. Use what works for you.
