/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ **8. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Ys fuck one ghost like alien entity...

Weeeell, if I remember correctly Ray also gets a blowjob by a ghost.

It was a dream (in official canon, at least).

[–] pleb_maximus@feddit.de 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Didn't look like a dream to me in the movie.

There's a blurry "dream effect" before the sequence and he's not in the same bed he's shown falling out of afterwards. The reason for this odd scene is that it originally wasn't a dream, but a plotline that was cut from the final film.

The actor insists it was a real story his friend told him.

Dan Ackroyd is a renowned spiritualist. His grandpa was a mystic and his father published A History of Ghosts. He's a lifetime member of MUFON and has appeared on TV discussing the supernatural multiple times. I have no doubt a ghost BJ story was told to him at least once.

Dr. Ghost Crusher am I right?

[–] jawa21@lemmy.sdf.org 8 points 7 months ago

Nah, the GhostBusters did it first.

That was one really weird episode. I remember watching it and thinking how awful it would be to find my grandma's sex journal. Right there are four words that should never have been put together. The last line of the episode is her implying that she is still reading the grandma sex journal even after the whole mess is over.

The fuck

Which episode is this? I think I need to rewatch TNG

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

Sub Rosa, last season. You really don't want to watch it. Crusher is made into a whimp addicted to her ghost orgasms. And I know a Picard does love her but it still kinda bothered me when he just comes charging into her property and she is asking him to leave. Like ok if someone I love asked me to leave their home and I didn't, I better be very very sure that they were enough danger that honoring their wishes is the wrong thing to do. Based on what he saw I didn't think it came to that level.

Also again. Grandma's sex journal.

I haven't watched the US version of Ghosts yet even though (or maybe because) I loved the UK version. Is it good? Did they name the scout character after a Soap star?

I couldn't get though the first episode it's dreadful.

Edit to add some detail. It's like they took the original ghosts and ripped out everything that gave it its charm.

in reply to your edit

same with what happened when they tried to make a US Inbetweeners and US utopia

[–] then_three_more@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Or the multiple attempts at Red Drawf.

I'm surprised they've not tried to do Detectorists.

[–] norbert@kbin.social 3 points 7 months ago

I enjoyed it, it's pretty hammy but in a good way. I like Rose McIver quite a bit though so I may be biased.

iZombie was pretty good too, pretty much because of her.

My Nagus. Imagine my surprise to learn that was a real title for African kings in... can't remember. Ethiopia?
