Seiko tank, SWR053P1. The original strap isn’t the best. So I’d replace that right away. Keep in mind a decent strap will cost half the price of the watch, without going exotic.

Black tie means no watch. But if you’ve got to wear one make it a Reverso mono face. Your budget will just about buy you the strap.

But seriously don’t buy a watch for an event which dress codes supposes you don’t wear one…

Reminds me of Jacob Jensen, those were kinda popular during that time period. Square case, round dial, leather strap..

Something Quartz, I’d skip anything Motorsport related because that’s just tacky. Also for riding a rubber or natostrap will be a better option than a steel bracelet.
