I always take 2 watches on trips. One a beater for casual and the other a Sub for those dinners or lunches at a nice restaurant. I use a single Watchpod for the watch I'm not wearing and that stays in my carryon or backpack.

What you need is one watch to rule them all.
But seriously try the seiko 5 sports srpg series.
Agree. And the word Marlin doesn't really go well with a pilot or field watch. Good luck and show it off on here whichever one you decide to get.
Seiko prospex solar chronograph SSC819P
Seiko speedtimer SSC911P

Educated selection indeed. At least you've done decent groundwork, not like some posts on here that require us all to be Prof X! Happy searching.
Was going to suggest the IWC Pilot's range but your budget brought everything back to your Hamilton - Seiko range. I don't think even the Longines would be in the 1k vicinity.
The Hamilton Khaki would be my pick of your bunch. Leather, steel or nato strap would look great on that. Or you could check out the military series from Marathon. A lot of watch for the price. Hope that helps.
I think all the bases are covered. Well done! You can take a break now.
