I've never been scared for AI, I've been scared of the idiots who THINK it's smart (smarter than them at least) and want to push ot to their employees and customers. My employer has been pushing more and more automation using AI for development that if it can make sense of the codebase our customers have, then I will happily retire and let it take the madness that is their codebases.

Because some people don't want those pesky people who are too poor and have to walk to places.

You are correct, however most people -- around here at least, buy them because "big truck go vroom" and some sort of macho complex. You can tell who has a truck for work and who has a truck for looks by how they keep their trucks.

I have a stupid large truck that can tow boats at 85 (2013 tundra stock) to tow the family camper and I keep that bad boy under 65 when towing and always drive like a kid is going to run out in front. Sure I could drive a kei truck and would fucking love it, however my truck is the smallest in height that I could have gotten that could pull the weight I needed (and if possible I'll make it shorter). Fuck paying the stupid prices at hotels and airbnbs, I camp with my towable home for $30-$80 a night.

True, but the reason in the US is different is because of laws.

I agree, I don't think it's accurate to say engagement was less. If I want to see what is new with my friends and I can quickly see everything in just a few swipes instead of swiping w For hours to see if I can see something new it will cause me to spend less time on the platform, but I'll enjoy it more because I can spend more time doing things with them in person.
