I’m going to leave this here. I don’t want to be a Rolex fanboy but this article explains some of the differences in Rolex watches and why they are so expensive. Yes marketing is also a factor.

It’s a nice watch but it sounds like you’re really trying hard to justify this over the Rolex Explorer.

500-1000 is kind of my limit. I am saving for a piece that I really want for $7-9k that I could probably buy now but would be very irresponsible due to family responsibilities.
