Thing is, its capitalism thats our enemy, not the tech that is freeing us up from labour. Its not the tech thats the problem, its our society, and if fucking sucks that I'm just as poor as the rest of you, but because I finally have a tool that lets me satisfactorily lets me access my creativity, I'm being villianized by the art community, even though the tech I am using is open source and no capitalist is profiting off of me

The robots are far better at giving me what I want than humans ever were, so yeah, I I ironically am stoked for robot wall art and murals

Man, whenever I start getting tired by the amount of Tankies on Lemmy, the linux users and decent AI takes in users rejuvenates me. The rest of the internet has jumped full throttle on the AI hate train

Steam comes pretty fuckin close though. Valve has its issues with communication and speed, but since all of its employees are also gamers the company frequently furthers PC gaming in ways they didnt need to because Valve employees just wanted things furthered in that category IE built in modding support, digital games refunds, built in control remapping, steamdeck being a linux machine, etc

I myself have gotten 2 friends to get a steam deck that otherwise would have gotten a windows laptop (or a switch =P), and am working on a 3rd

Being able to chose your form and synthetically modify your body doesnt really change your ability to choose to keep living or not

It sounds like you're hanging out with the wrong kind of people if they are asking that question to judge you. I find most people ask that question as its a baseline question on getting to know someone, so hobbies would be a perfectly acceptable response

With the way our climate is going I think our current level of immigration is training wheels for whats soon to come, so we need to be making houses both to ease our housing crisis, AND meet our ongoing immigration
