In North America, the only laws I know of are the character restrictions on the input field for the birth certificate.

If they keep tracing it back to the provider it doesn't matter. Eventually rightsholders will squak enough at politicians and pay them big money to pass legislation banning VPNs or some stupid shit like that. If enough countries do it, VPN providers will have major operating challenges.

Check what facts? No model number was provided. The ThinkPad spans decades. We don't even know if this is an IBM era or Lenovo era Thinkpad.

I'd generally agree, but unfortunately, we work in very specialized fields. The options in Canada for this work are Toronto or Vancouver. Otherwise its the USA and visas are a pain. We did that for a few years and while cheaper, that's a big fucking nope now.

This is the one thing that needs addressing. Seeing someone's post 15x over two pages just makes me want to stop using Lemmy. Consolidation of crossposts would be huge please!
