No, I'm saying that 'they just trade' isn't as innocuous as it sounds. Choosing bad partners can get you in hot water when they decide they want to stop playing nice and mangle your economy.
We trusted the US once, I can't imagine we'd trust a trade bloc driven by Russia and China.
IMO we need to engage hard with Europe and other nations that have something approximating functional democracies.
