Maybe Citizen EcoDrive, if hes not into automatics. You can get nice Titanium one for that amount.

I had a long hard discussion with myself to either go with that or Citizen bn0201-88L. And I went with Citizen, but Casio being cheap, reliable, solar and it has day/date function...those are the points that kind of swayed me back and forth.
That Solar Casio MTP 120 is looking nice. How does it seeve you so far?
Easy, Seamaster!
If you like it, go for it. Nobody here will say anything bad about Citizen, especially EcoDrive.
Tissot, Hamilton or CW.
Omega Seamaster, maybe that 007 edition.
Although I am not a fan of chronos, for legibility sake, you can not go wrong with the choice you made. That watch has same characteristics and tech as my daily watch, and I can tell you it's epitome of what you can put on your hand, without going digital, like Garmin or Apple watch. So no worries, if you like it, enjoy wearing it.
Jeez collection of a great brand, but man oh man, do I hate chronos.
That you are getting a lot of watches as gifts from distant relatives.
If price is the only noteworthy thing he has to mention about the watch, he either is clueless or the watch is overpriced.
Look at Citizen EcoDrive lineup, Seiko 5s, and on cheaper side Casio, maybe Duro with leftover moeny go for good bracelet. First is solar, second is automatic and third is classic quartz, so take a pick. My prefrence is for EcoDrive.
