Yeah it's total bullshit and the NBA is probably over this outdated practice that no longer benefits anyone (including the local broadcasters blackouts were supposed to protect.... they're all going bankrupt). Wouldn't be surprised if the league just consolidates all local broadcasts onto one streaming service like Major League Soccer did with MLS on Apple TV.
