Hey Guys, Microsoft is cool now, they really care for Open Source now, they changed.

How do people always forget, how often they get fucked by that company in the last 20 years, that they think anything changed? They still abuse their monopoly, they still buy up the work of others and they still will then dilute it down for their bottom line and restrict it to force you to use a login to harvest data on your profile (see also Windows).

Everyone who said it's cool that MS bought Github, because they are now Pro-Open-Source: Can we please have a round table every 2 years and talk. Because I think you guys are victims of the Stockholm syndrome and do not even notice.

The Original Saleae logic analyzer (or one of its clones -> search for "Compatible Saleae") or a LA104 (maybe with custom firmware) or maybe a DSlogic pro or ChronoVu. You can also browse the HackADay Archive to find an analyzer that suits your needs (e.g. build your own, or based on a pico). It all depends on the resolution/speed you need and usecase.

USB isolator, $10 saleae clone and sigrok/pulseview setup is very simple and cheap (except for the isolator).

IOS has a 2FA feature included in the key chain (passwords) settings. No need for a third party app. If you backup passwords via icloud, you are already set.

Uhm, Mods? This is blatant spam.

Isn't archwiki one of the most comprehended wikis for Linux distros out there? If anything, the arch-wiki (to me) has often too many answers for the same problem than the other way around.

Yeah bring it on Google. I didn't thought I could leave Reddit as there is so much content and I thought I always would fall for the sheer quantity of content that Reddit has. I am suprised by myself how easily I accepted Lemmy over Reddit even all these Month later. Maybe I could leave Youtube too and would be okay with another platform that does not provide so much content. And you know how I find out? Not by doing it on my own. But by getting a really good incentive to make this step. If youtube thinks I am gonna bend over and accept hours of ads in my life they are wrong. I will choose the alternative. As soon as they force me to disable adblock, I have all the reasons to pack my coach wagon and go west searching for another life. Maybe it will not be better, but I will certainly be free. And it will be exciting to be part of something new. Bring it on Google. Make me leave you!

Write it down for now so you do not lose the memory if it is so precious to you. Maybe it will be even better the next time coding it. I think many coders have a "loose copy" or a "code gist" of previous versions of their favorites codes around. I never created a code that I framed and hanged on my wall, but some came close. I would not publish it under your real name any time soon. At least not as long as you work in that company +1-2y. If you choose to publish it in the next 6 month under a very different name, in another account, with another repo name, because you love FOSS so much, and it looks different to the original code in format and style (and the presentation of data = frontend), then I see no problem. Just two guys having a similar idea. Not a lawyer though.

The Video-Industry behaves just like the Music-Industry. They constantly throw dirt at the wall and look for what is sticking to it. If they find something that sticks, they throw further dirt at this point until the whole blob falls down and they start over. The saw what sticks to customers when it comes to price-hikes and now throw everything after this to see how long it will stick. Vote with your wallet.
