I don't understand why people get offended by this sort of thing. Just don't give a tip!

Some places now have stupid amounts already selected by default, like 20% or 30%

Others require you to navigate several menus to disable this bullshit.

Its getting worse over time.

Everything seems to be adding a tip option by default now. Even self checkout kiosks may start having them from what I heard

That's why you need consumer protection laws to prevent scams like this

Its a legal scam. Designed to guilt trip people to pay more for quite literally nothing. Its genius, and evil.

USA is already doomed in that regard, some companies offer you to pay 30% "tips" or more, and its selected by default, you need to go out of your way to decline
