What blows my mind is even in states like Washington, California and Oregon, which utilize mail-in voting, only about 75% of registered voters participated. How hard is it to check some boxes and fling the letter in the mailbox?
Exactly. I have a 1.5 hour daily time limit on Voyager, my Lemmy client, and I hit it every day, no problem. I do miss some of the niche subs but, every time I go back to ask a quick question, so many people are just so goddamned mean that I'm still very happy I left.
It must be a regional thing as we're probably about the same age. Growing up in CA, I frequently saw portions of walls made of these, especially in businesses and universities. One house by me had a cool turret staircase with alternating wall sections made of these glass bricks. There wasn't much privacy at night, although you could only make out vague shapes.
