As time has gone on I've come to the conclusion Discovery started as the pilot of another show they stretched a Star Trek skin onto

Pretty much, the Ship's main computer doesn't even have the ability to learn user preferences.

Star Trek tries to avoid using fully sapient AI, in fact it's illegal for fully integrated ship components to be sapient in Starfleet ships. It's why the ships computer can solve nearly any problem you give it, but it can't give you anything unless you ask the correct question.

Which one? Spot is played by a different cat every episode

Just for the record I agree with you, but the opposite of that final question is true, why shouldn't she be a white dude, or a PoC man? Ranching/farming isn't a job that requires a specific gender or sex.

You've never touched EUIV or it's DLC I can tell

Apparently they didn't, the man canonical continues working after they rescue him

That happens the first time you use a transporter. Those things kill you and print a copy elsewhere that thinks it's you

Lower Decks is nothing but references, all the really weird aliens you see are generally Animated Series aliens, like the triarmed guy running the ship to The Farm or the lady with three segments that can float free of each other

I always felt like they stretched a Star Trek skin over another IPs pilot in season 1

Source on Canadian cheese being better.

My internet is pretty solid actually.
