What if I just give you my contact on Telegram and you throw me a video call and see that no, I'm just a person who has grown in such different environment than your that I cannot recognize the context in which you are making your basic assumptions?

I'm not stupid, literally, but I am apparently very inexperienced in the regards of many things that are absolutely everyday for you.

On Voyager(Android e/os) and desktop Firefox(Ubuntu) quite equally.

So, in this context the sensible answer is: Desktop.

You don't need to be tech-savvy to use a social media.

Why do you not like it here? What can/should be done differently?

[–] Tuuktuuk@piefed.ee 1 points 2 weeks ago

This is probably the way that works the best.

What do you mean?

The whole thing with federating is irrelevant to most users.

I tell them it's a social media built in a way that makes it impossible for any company to take over it in order to make profit. And then I show them to some instance I've hand-picked for them, without really telling them there are other instances as well. It's not something they should worry about at that point. I can explain it later on, anyway.

How about people driving those trucks that directly dump mixed waste into the ocean? That's a very common thing to do in South-East Asia. Plus, there are a zillion villages everywhere around there that dump all of their mixed waste into creeks going through them – to be brought "away". Into the oceans.

That's where almost half of all microplastic comes from. Then there's the other approximately half that comes from cars' tyres. And then a part of a percent that comes from drinking straws and such. Hooray.
