And you're never going to get an easily maintainable code base without enabling those really good senior devs who can do that. It's more nuanced than the author of the article thinks, sometimes an unweildly process gets in the way of making changes required to improve maintainability.

Dunno what the laws are like where you live but might be worth doing some lessons with a friend on quieter country roads to get more practice with the clutch if possible.

I think it's referring to when you're searching the entire code base(s), as opposed to individual pull requests.

Depends, they might be running without any profit on VC money and hoping to be acquired but run out before they do.
