That's just the title of the article, not the full report. It's just an article providing more context around the trade, which is a very normal report. It's not supposed to be breaking news.
For anyone asking "how did he fall to #57?!"... he could have gone much earlier in the 2nd but told teams not to draft him. He wanted to go to the Warriors because they had a role for him. Agents have a lot of sway on where 2nd rounders end up going now.

I think (some/many) people mean well when they say they don't care, but I think that's a disappointing response. Saying you don't care when a marginalized group finally gets representation within an industry means you didn't care that they were not previously welcome in that industry. "Firsts" matter because they are the end of "nevers."
Which part specifically did you disagree with? I think it's kind of hard to argue that Wemby would look better with a real PG than he does with Sochan playing point. Vecenie doesn't say that's a bad decision long term for the Spurs. Only that it makes it harder for Wemby to perform this season because he has to create more himself
