The problem is not so much badly written programs and websites in terms of algorithms, but rather latency. The latency of loading things from storage, sometimes through the internet is the real bottleneck and why things feel so slow.

The problem is, of course, if those evangelical idiots end up in power again they now have the power to wield it. (or to at least try)

that’s a solution if you’re a hobbyist living in Kazakhstan, not if you’re a business operating in the USA (with multiple people and their families depending on you not screwing up)

I’ve had Safari of all things crash on me a couple of times. Still, not enough to actually be disruptive.

As far as I understand it, the Linux Foundation is more like a confederation rather than a unitary state. They don’t really directly manage each project under their umbrella, they just provide general guidelines and a neutral space for interested parties to interact and cooperate in.
