Top 5 before playing his first game is extreme but it’s nice to see these two retired “old” guys building up today’s young players instead of the usual, “He could never play back in my day” comments some of them want to shout from the rooftops.

I’d go with Steph. He obviously isn’t going to be able to back Shaq down in the post but with footwork and his very creative pump fakes, he’ll be able to get some clean looks from the post. Shaq will hit some 3s since basically any NBA player can hit them to a certain degree in practice (which is where 1-on-1s usually happen) but my guess is he isn’t able to hit enough to bet Steph.
I don’t think most Jazz fans hate him. Not sure about the Knicks. I’m a Jazz fan and vividly remember the two series against him. He beat our team in painstaking fashion but he wasn’t ever rude or demeaning about it. He and the Bulls were just better. I’ve never found him to be a “hateable” player.
Jeremy Lin if you want to count Linsanity as his prime.
His prime was simultaneously the earliest and shortest. Essentially one game as I recall.
76er fans are praying AD loses his starting spot to someone and becomes a backup this year.
Stephen Curry made a comment prior to the 2014-15 season along the lines of being the best offensive player in the league and a lot of people scoffed at how outlandish that was. Obviously, that ended up being his first MVP season. Derrick Rose in 2010-11 also.
