There's a HUGE body of evidence that proves Americans are the most propagandized people on the planet and this response, willfully ignoring the facts, is both telling and indicative of this country's future.

Do you ever wonder why it takes a single parliamentarian or congressman to derail all Democratic state welfare initiatives like national healthcare while the Republicans steamrolled over dozens of Republicans and parliamentarians who tried to stop this most recent bill?

If you ever bother to educate yourself, you'll come to understand that the democrats had the option of making the filibuster super majority proof when Biden was the president and Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, but chose not to even when their own bill was in jeopardy.

Please wake up.

This country normally strips Americans of citizenship every few decades; most recently in the zoot suit riots where my own family members were forced to live out their lives in Mexico despite being born and raised in the United States.

The equal rights amendment could have helped people like your grandfather, Uncle and step father maintain their support and Biden did next to nothing to make it a reality.

But that's just the brown and disabled people of the United States and the global South whose lives are being fucked over or ended, but sure, you and your colleagues jobs are more important.

the previous and current administration only differ in uncouthness.

agreed, this administration is not any better than the last one.

the problem is the automatic and unquestioning assumption that the last administration was better despite the large body of evidence (by even american institutions) stating the opposite.

saying this makes it clear that you value american comfort over a genocide.

tell that the black panthers after they were bombed by the police; or the brown americans who were born and raised in the united states, but still forcibly moved to mexico during the zoot suit riots and the depression; or the queer people who were arrested, imprisoned, fined, and livelihoods ruined until they fought back at the stonewall inn; or the tuskegee airmen or the navajo that were sterilzed and had medical experiments conducted upon them without their will, simply because they weren't american enough; or black wall street in tulsa that was literally shot and bombed at like the gazans are right now.

there are SO MANY examples of american facism that you have to be willfully ignorant of them to believe that americans aren't fascist; either that or be your garden variety american voter.

her administration literally didn't even bother to secure the equal rights amendment; which would have nullified much of project 2025.

also a huge majority of project 2025 has been enacted since 1981.

the facism was always here; it merely had a mask that is now being torn off.

yes you did; there was literally zero attempt at "harm reduction"

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml -5 points 1 week ago (14 children)

it doesn't take any kind of smarts to read an article from a respected news source that confirms that the last administration was not at all interested in "harm reduction" for the gazan genocide.
