Nope, but you can always ask for any of the pictures in full quality and I’ll send them! Actually, on that note, would you know of anywhere I could post these in full quality? I just don’t wanna overwhelm lemmy servers. I’m also assuming you’d like this one in full, so I’ll send that in a bit when I’m on my computer

Same story as yesterday! I kinda chose a bad time to start this project because next week is finals weeks and I don't have much time to go out and take new pictures, so here's an edit of a picture I previously posted! This was taken before I knew about taking in raw and editing, so I've done my best to improve this as much as possible!

Exposure Settings:

Aperture: f/10 Shutter Speed: 1/80s ISO: 1000 Focal Length: 50mm

Information:

I have to post one picture every day, I can take pictures in advance, in case I'm unable to take a picture for whatever reason (vacation, weather, idk) but I still have to post once per day.

I can't post pictures of the same thing within like, a week or two, idk, I might get rid of this "rule" if I feel like it.

Don't be afraid to give me any feedback on any of my pictures, I'm still veeery new to photography and would love any feedback given.

Gear:

Canon EOS Rebel t2i

18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 EFS zoom lens

55-250mm f/4-5.6 EFS zoom lens

Pictures are taken in RAW, processed in Darktable and GIMP, then converted to webp and compressed to 70% quality.

If you'd like a higher (or full) quality image, just ask me in the replies or dms, I'll happily send it when I get a chance. If you don't specify a file format or quality, I'll just send a jpeg at 90% quality (or whatever necessary to get a reasonable file size). You can also totally ask for the version of the image before edits.

Also, you're free to do anything you want with any of my pictures, just don't claim you were the one to take it :)

Don't get me wrong, I love Mark, but his content is kind of, tailored to the masses, you know what I mean? Fun stuff you can do at home! A mad scientist might do something more insane, such as connect 100 car batteries together to rival the power of lightning...

Holy shit this is beautiful

Youtube mad scientist

Okay come on, Styropyro fits the bill way better for “mad scientist”

Okayyyyy it looks like it finally worked, maybe, for some reason I had to make the post from my phone instead of my computer, it was so fucking annoying because everything looked fine on my account, but if I was on my alt account I couldn’t see the post

Monochrome tree, idk there's not much else to say.

Also I apologize if I'm accidentally spamming the community with this post, on my end I've posted this twice already and it says the post was created, then I go to my account and it's just not there. So I'm not sure if that's just something funky on my end or if it's actually not publishing.

I’ll be making a new post in like 6 hours…

[–] guynamedzero@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (4 children)

Being mean I guess? This genuinely made my day

Yep, I think this was the absolute closest I could get while still being mostly in focus, I haven’t heard of focus stacking before, I might have to look into that a little bit.

[–] guynamedzero@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (6 children)

OH MY GOD THATS AMAZING

More unsolicited feedback!

Your unsolicited feedback is very welcome!

It looks like that kicks in around f/11

I see, I'll try and keep that in mind as well for the future

I would try to keep ISO down

Gotcha, I usually leave the ISO to automatic, would you recommend I set it manually? Or maybe lower the max ISO it can choose automatically?

I found a green flower! And a little friend on it, I took a few other pictures with different apertures and different distances but they all came out blurry/undetailed, so this was the best I got, oops!

I have no idea what this is but it's really pretty, I found it walking around my college campus. I also cropped the image to 1440p in case someone wants to use it for like a 16:9 thing.

Pretty late uploading this! I figured I'd try my hand at a bit of food photography. This is also the first photo that was originally taken in RAW and edited a little, so there's probably a lot that could have been done differently.

Just a fun little plant in my yard, this is the last in my backlog of pictures taken as jpegs originally.

For now (I have a small backlog of pics I'm gonna share) all images are originally taken as jpegs (5184x3456) with minimal compression, but I always compress and convert to webp to reduce stress on Lemmy servers and make things load better. Soonish I'll be uploading pictures taken in RAW, processed on Darktable and GIMP, then converted to webp and compressed. Here's the waterfall we have in our fish pond! After some suggestions from people, I'm going to actually do some editing of the photos before posting them now! This one just has the contrast slightly boosted.
