I wouldn't say it's standard but it's how it used to be done.
if the package was 15, choose your 15 and move on, ask yourself do you really need 20 more pics of the same shoot?

It's your time, do whatever you want. Just don't be a dick and say you are busy or something.
It depends on how much the photographer is charging, not to mention country/area/niche etc. Of course you can't ask that question to the photographer. Plus are you using his/her equipment or yours? Meals included? how many hours?
They will probably offer you a flat rate for the whole day (whatever that is, it could be from 6 to 12 hours, sometimes even more) If you are just beginning, looking to learn, charge something decent, just remember you are not an experienced 2nd shooter, be clear about what they expect from you and don't do it for free, a lot of photographers abuse that position of saying "be grateful for the learning experience" fuck that.
A lot of photographers do it, I don't think it's a big deal for big brands as long as you keep it clean, but it can come off as disingenuous, I wouldn't focus to much on brands, but more on what you are capable of doing creatively.
Live and Learn, next time be very clear how things need to be published. Talk in person to the other photographer and be clear as to why you feel screwed over.
IG will cut your photos vertically so your original composition doesn't really matter, if you know she is going to do this why not cropped them yourself and give her options? at the end of the day she will do whatever she wants with the pictures at least this way you will have a say.
Everything is oversaturated, it's up to you to make it work.
At this point you will have better odds being really smart business wise than being a fucking great photographer (not that it won't help).
I don't see a problem, but at some point it might be a hassle for you if you get a lot of clients, or the other thing is how long are you willing to put up with this service, in case you close?
I send dropbox links and I'm very clear that the link will be online for two weeks, any resending of a new link has an additional cost.
Jajajajaja happened a couple of times even a few minutes of difference in a wedding will fuck you up
I honestly find Bridge very useful and easy to use, it baffles me that most photographers don't try it.
When I did weddings, I had a second shooter, between both of us we would take 6,000+ photos, and bridge would combine them flawlessly in chronological order.
Adobe Bridge, you can order them however you want, by lens, camera, iso, aperture, chronologically, etc etc, and it will retain the ranking you give them (5 stars model). Batch rename them, open them as raw, and a heck of a lot of features I probably don't know.
Just have a fast computer, depends on how many files are on your folder, but it does take a good chunk of ram.

That's a product, not a service, photography is a service, it's not impossible but like I said op should offer whatever services he is capable of doing to family and friends, and get as much experience as possible.
