Did I miss something?
How is this Tech News?
naeap
In the USA at least. In Europe it's everything but perfect, of course, but at least we have some public transport in cities and between them.
But yeah, the bike paths here in Austria are just getting bigger since some years again - and every cm seems to be a hard fight...
If you need the online storage (or whatever self hosted service) just for yourself (and maybe some few people), it's very simple to set up a Wireguard instance. My server doesn't even show open ports to the outside world, but with Wireguard I can access my git, wiki, etc in my home LAN.
I haven't really tried any of the second tier Solutions like Tailscale. But when you have more users or a more complex environment, that could help.
Still, sharing stuff with "outsiders" would still be tricky, I guess - at least I haven't found a solution...
Also, I needed to toggle it (unset, save, set, save), because it was somehow wrongly unset, although it showed as set
I'm currently hosting a wiki.js
you can either use markdown or a visual editor
is bcachefs stable?
just some day ago, someone posted this link:
https://kevincox.ca/2023/06/10/bcachefs-attempt/
and that doesn't sound great
anyone with more experience?
I only played around with Btrfs, which was quite nice, but I settled for a ZFS for my simple Raid 1's, as I really liked it under BSD. else I just stick with Ext4.
understood, thanks :-)
I'm using NewPipe, which gives me music in background and no Ads
that's enough for me
out of interest, what other advantages does a premium account have?
didn't know about piped, thanks for the recommendation!
anything to know about before setting it up?
like some pitfalls or hiccups?
yeah, well, maybe...
usually unexpected situations have unexpected errors. so yeah, you could be right
I'm not sure if it's just a load balancing issue. if all of Reddit can only access specific subs, maybe they split their servers that way
but I'm just guessing, because it doesn't make much sense to go down, when there is less data to process...
Thanks!
I have this bug with Firefox and Thunderbird on my laptop, but not the workstation. Already re-installed and was equally puzzled as I didn't saw any load either
