It can cost anywhere between 450-900€. It‘s pretty ridiculous that you can only get a somewhat timely diagnosis by paying for it yourself, but it‘s really a supply/demand issue.

Importantly, if you decide to go that route, make absolutely sure that you‘re actually talking to a qualified professional (someone who has an Approbation). There are quite a lot of shady life coaches and counselors trying to make money with ASD „diagnoses“ which have no medical or legal significance.

If your system is up-to-date, your kernel has probably already been patched. The patch was added to mainline on April 1, and I think every major distribution will have added it by now.
