I used to do this with wedding group shots 20 years ago. You get a 20 person wedding party, and I would tell everyone to hold still for 10 seconds and shoot 10 images at 1 second intervals. In a group that big, someone always closes eyes, but you can fix it by layering another frame and brushing through.

The flash can only operate if the entire shutter is open for a moment. At shutter speeds above about 1/250 second, the second shutter curtain drops before the first is all the way at the bottom.

Your camera will list a shutter synch speed. That's the fastest you can shoot and fire a flash.

Damn straight. I agreed to go to business school because my dad paid, but semi-secretly took every photo class they had as an elective.

I tried the business world for a few years, hated it, and quit, selling everything I owned to go to commercial photo school. I darn near starved to death.

Now I own my own company and everything is fine, and I wake up and do exactly what I love. But it was a struggle.
