What kind of candidates are you referring to? Because quality candidates can absolutely choose to be picky. Ben Johnson is regarded as one of the most sought after HC candidates this upcoming offseason, he interviewed for the Panthers job last season and ultimately decided to stay in Detroit.

And a different angle about momentum crashing, a prospective HC can crash their value by going to a dysfunctional franchise that results in a short stint and spits them back out to being a coordinator or position coach. Sure they’ll get the guaranteed money from the initial HC contract, but with their reputation damaged, they’ll have lost their earning power in subsequent HC contracts.

While things can certainly change, it seems like Peters is content where he is being that he turned down GM interviews this past offseason. And with Lynch’s promotion, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Peters get promoted to GM this off-season.

I think Slowik is in similar situation where if he wants to be a HC it’s likely some team will give him a shot. He’s a Shannahan disciple and with Stroud’s immediate success there’s going to be a lot of interest in him.

Yes and no. Growing up the Niners were a dynasty that just kept reloading and always seemed like they were competing for super bowls, and that would always be the case.

But into my teens and as a young adult the Niners sucked. I was at the playoff win against the Giants back in the 2002 season. We just squeaked by them, and then would go on to get stomped by the Bucs the following week.

At the time it was a disappointing season (for the standard I’d become accustomed to), but I figured we’d get it sorted out. We’d then go on to miss the playoffs for the next 8 seasons, which really molded my current fandom.

Harbaugh was as a breath of fresh air and I it was super disappointing when the team parted ways with him because I knew how bad things could get; and it did. Now with ShannaLynch I’m super happy to have them and I just laugh when a “fan” talks about putting them on the hot seat.

While both the NBA and NFL have shit officiating, I find it wild how the NBA enforces infractions based on displays of emotion, and even wilder is that it’s totally subjective.

Matt Barkley. Up until today he had not been on an active roster since 2020.

Absolutely. But the attached article links to a Bleacher Report poll and some dude complaining about the Packers poor performance as the “source” for being on the hot seat.
