Are you using 2005 Gentoo or something?

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

Or you just get it over with and just switch to Linux altogether

Install Linux, it's easier, leaner, faster than windows shit, it's also free, does actual security, and won't ever spy on you.

Sorry, nonsense

People have been dying from heat in droves since decades ago. I recall 10-20 years ago a heatwave that overflowed morgues in France.

Not saying that climate change isn't real or not disastrous, it is and so much more.

Just that this title is misleading at best

Yeah just.... Why? Why all those devices? Why auch a mess?

Snap and systemd are the worst things to happen to Linux. Both in Basic, maybe, not a bad idea but the implementation is horrible

snap

Aaaaaand we're done here. Fuck snap, no, bad dog!

Carbon capture as a solution where you use power to filter out CO2 from the atmosphere is ONLY a viable strategy if we can make 100% carbon free power.

Until then you'd use 100 CO2 generating power to (after all losees) capture 30 CO2, it's dumb. If you use a solar powered system instead, you still are losing as now someone else that could have used your solar power is using 100 CO2 while you pull only 30 out...

Once everything runs on CO2 free power, THEN it makes sense to start carbon capture, until then it's only playfully pretending while making the situation actively worse.

Trees doesn't work either, they die and release all that carbon back into the atmosphere

You send mail to Gmail and Hotmail and it's actually accepted? How?

Cue car brains complaining about how their mini tanks must be supported by all infrastructure

Yeah that's not cool. What did you say? I don't care what it is, don't remove comments just because you don't like them (unless you started yelling about killing the evil )

I agree, alot of the young guard prefers bling over whatever actually works great. Having said that, giving older software a bit more bling is a good idea because said young guard is the future and you always want to lure people with the bling and keep them with the great functionality. Right now they see bling and if it's shit, oh well, that's just how it works
