If it were me, I’d require TLS and do it on a non-standard port. Don’t allow 5060/UDP. Also, can you configure an external firewall? (Router if local or cloud firewall)

I was told by a Telnyx employee that 1-800 numbers don’t have to worry about 10DLC. I certainly can’t confirm that for you, but I’d assume he knows what he’s talking about. He also said the wait for 1-800 numbers for texting was like 6 weeks.
