I don't get it either. Why people buy a lot of mediocre headphones? Instead I buy something once every 8 years or so and aim for the high end. I own HE-1000 stealth while living in a country where average salary is 800 EUR after taxes.

Do headphones that are easy to drive – such as the Hifiman HE1000se – benefit much from better amps? in c/headphones@hi-fi.community

You're right as there is no audible difference between magni and my MacBook Pro 14" 3.5mm output, lol.

Totally disagree..haven't heard a good amp under 300. Have heard magni and it sounds like shit. It's very congested sonically. Even half deaf person would hear a difference between magni in somethingthing like Holo Audio Bliss. But I I would say you don't need to spend fortune - mojo 2 is great DAC and amp combo and for an amp Aune s17 Pro is something to beat under 1k.

So so tempting… I just bought some 6xx’s though. Maybe in a few years time in c/headphones@hi-fi.community

I dont know, man, I compared hifiman he1000v2 Stealth with HD800s and thought hifimans came on top in all areas expect soundstage.

What should a total newbie know? in c/headphones@hi-fi.community

There are much better headphones then HD650, lol

I have a pair of dynamic headphones, I sweated on the exposed drivers various times in the hot summer. in c/headphones@hi-fi.community

Nah, you will be fine. About five years ago I bought B&W P9 with retail price of 900 eur. Two years later I started to use them on my bike rides.. 150, 200km long bike rides and they re still fine to this day.
