I mean with something like the r5 that's all you'd need. On 45 megapixels I'd imagine you could crop in super easy. But Canon did that they were going to add another 2 super zooms besides that one. Maybe you'll luck out with something very similar.

I also own the 70-180mm. It's a fantastic lens, I definitely love how light it is, but for what i do, the trade off would be having to use a second body or swapping lenses and at that point i'd rather just stick with one package. It's also f2.0 from 35-40, f2.2 from 40-60, f2.5 from 60-80.

It's just as heavy as the 70-200 GMii. I've done long walks with it and hours long events with it, no problems. The bonus being that for an event I can completely leave a second body at home. 35mm is wide enough for 95% of everything I do. If I was going to shoot a wedding I'd just slap a 16mm prime on the second body if I wanted wider.

The 24-105mm f/2.8 is coming for RF though. That thing is going to be a beast.

Definitely going with my a Tamron 35-150mm f/2.8. Super sharp, great AF.
