Sometimes, there is more than meets the eye.
Sinn tends to have a lot of that - value, excellent (over)engineering, purposely understated looks. And they do have splashes of color and some interesting design elements from time to time, so maybe check again?
That said, they are German, so expect a culturally-consistent product.

I think you take the look and don’t worry about the hodinkee heritage, it’s basically perfect (and I’m sure there are at least a few more, would love to see it on a light grey suede).
Yeah I think there are numerous things they could do to soften it or improve it, and hope they do. Seems to be a glaring design error IMO, I’m surprised it seems to stick around.
And service certainly is a bullet, hop you can dodge it.
But enough about the bad, it’s a gorgeous piece and you have made it better. Enjoy!

- The only thing I don’t love about that watch is the dial text. Part of is any text, part of it is the poor font choice, part of it is that having ‘GANGRESERVEAUHSFARTEN’ on the dial - no German swear words needed. To be honest, this has been a dealbreaker for me so far.
