A stretchy wrap is great for newborns since they're often too small for a normal carrier even with an insert. Some brands make ones with buckles if you don't want to fiddle with tying it on every time. I use Boba but there's a bunch of similar brands at the same price point.

When I was pregnant, I was able to ebike to my doctor's appointments pretty much up until I gave birth. My husband uses it for most hardware store runs. Grocery trips for heavy items like cat litter, taking the dogs to the vet, the list goes on.
These are all possible on a non-e cargo bike (or normal bike + trailer) but realistically we would have defaulted to the car most times. Now we drive less than once a week.

They actually did something similar when creating Sesame Street (and I think Blues Clues); the main difference being the goal was to make the educational parts the most attention grabbing, so kids with parents who just plop them in front of the TV would be more prepared for school.
