Of course we all do all of these, but what's the most common method for you?

I know there have been these types of post before, but most of them have been pre-HP HyperX, now that its under HP, I wanna know are the Clouds 2 still better than the BS V2 X. Also the BS are way cheaper If i get them in the Razer Battle Bundle.

I inherited a vintage hi-fi system (turntable, amp, preamp, CD player, tuner, etc) from my FIL and it all sounds amazing through my Klipsch horns.

For my birthday my wife bought me my first pair of wired headphones (Focal Elegia). I plugged the headphones directly into my vintage CD player (McIntosh MCD-7005) and dang they are loud! Volume on the cd player doesn’t seem to be doing much nor does turning on the amp or preamp.

Am I doing it right? Is there something about which I need to be aware? I feel like there is something obvious I am missing but the head phones are simply too loud right now.

Thanks much.

Chain: HifimanEdition XS---Tripowin GranVia Balanced---FiiO K7---Audioquest Cinnamon Coax---Wiim Pro

This is my first time using a dedicated streamer, & I wish I had done it sooner. It really is a very smart & versatile little gadget.

Hello, I bought myself a DCA Closed X because I wanted a good closed planar headphone and the reviews were all amazing I already have a Sundara which I absolutely love. And my Dac/Amp is a Topping DX3+. So the thing is, every time I listen to the DCA, I feel a strong discomfort, as if I had listened to very loud music, but it happens at a regular volume, which I never had with my sundara, or even my airpods Max/Moondrop Starfield. But with the Closed X I cannot truly enjoy my music, it feels loud when it isn't, and I have to turn volume down but the I can't really hear the music as well Does anyone know where this could come from?

Hi. I've had short time periods with Sennheiser hd800s, Audeze lcdx and Focal clear mg, but have just come to realization for me, that either I have very bad hearing for a 25 year old, or there really is not that big of difference between those headphones compared to my Sennheiser hd600 phones.

Would love to hear what gear you guys or gals have on you! My power feeder for the phones is rme adi 2 dac.

Just bought the new AirPods 2 at a discount and I’m kinda disappointed. They sound like they have a concert Hall effect, sort of echo-ish… Made me order some Moondrop Arias instead. Will I be satisfied?

Price has increased by $10 over the original. I hope it's worth it.

So, I made a previous post about liking the HD600 a lot, finding a second pair for my bass heavy (Hip-Hop/R&B/Rap/EDM) music, and having auditioned LCD-X (underwhelming) and stumbling upon Fostex 900.

Online feedback: received -- need to EQ the LCD-X. The community seems to think that Fostex is not value for money. I don't mind EQing but I don't want to buy something without having the ability to audition it and I can't audition the LCD-X with EQ. The search continues. The default Super HD600 seems to be Clear OG (not available for audition locally). I liked the Clear MG enough -- it really is a headphone that gets an A- across the board (except soundstage width), but I have heard that most people think the OG is better.

Since over 50% of my playlist features singers, I don't think I prefer a V-shape curve (if that means recessed vocals) despite I said that I found Fostex to be great sounding (maybe I didn't have it on long enough to notice fatigue).

Per recommendation I have in the last post, I wanted to try the Denon D7200. It wasn't available for demo but only the D9200. The D9200 have plenty of bass clarity (actually good resolution in all frequencies) but overall it didn't excite me (i.e., it didn't hit me in the chest). It's more smooth than exciting.

I think I may add the EU-Teak/Bamboo or Skullrcushes (seriously) as a 3rd pair but I think I want to look for an upgrade over the HD600 and not a sidegrade for now.

Someone mentioned the Arya Organic as truly amazing -- others claim that planars will never give the same "slam" that dynamic drivers would. I preferred the Clear MGs (and even HD600s) over the Edition XS. Arya Organic is out of stock locally so I will need to wait.

Shortlisted: Focal Clear OG | Clear Mg | Arya Organic

Will report back when I hear the Arya Organic.

https://github.com/ploopyco/headphones/issues/28

The Ploopy open source headphones project (you can print them off for free with a 3d printer) is looking for someone who knows how to design a headphones I/O that includes a 2.5mm jack

I may have explained this horribly, I do not understand this stuff

No, I am not affiliated; even if I was it's literally open source lol.

I only have 3 pairs so doesn’t have to be a crazy big thing

I love these budget headphones for multi-purpose reasons. However, I do want to note that if you are considering this, be careful if you have kids:

When these drop on a hard surface, the headphone tiny fake plastic screws (they look like screws, but they just "push in") just pop out and are a ROYAL PAIN to pop back in. The are a smooth cylinder shape with a small, vertical opening to hide a tiny cord in - if you can even find it, after it pops out (hoping you do, since it's a choking hazard to kids/pets).

Well, aligning the tiny cord with only a few mm of space is almost impossible without getting a tiny flathead (and flashlight) to help you align it. Even with the tools and lighting, it takes me a good 15 minutes each attempt at 100% focus.

Parents know that even if you put all effort into putting things out of reach of kids, they often find a way (or take advantage of having to quickly put it down for some reason or another).

TL;DR: This thing can't handle the tiniest fall from desk to floor without annoying fake screws popping out that take 15m and tools to put back.

MDR-Z1R paired with NW-WM1Z

What a polarizing headphone! I can see where you guys are coming from. I spent more than a year debating whether I should get it (since I didn't have a chance to demo it) since opinions were so contradicting. In the end, I figured why not. Blind purchase it was!

For me I personally adore the MDR-Z1R's fun and musical sound signature (I say that as a long-time owner of the IER-Z1R). True - the MDR doesn't slam as hard or screams as much as its in-ear brother (cousin?), but it's super comfortable for a long listening session.

Anyone have any suggestions for the best bluetooth transmitter for plugging into a TV's 3.5 mm headphone jack? Something that is relatively inexpensive but a good brand?

Tried ordering a Mii brand one from Amazon for like $20 or $30 but it was an absolute lemon and didn't even work and wouldn't connect to the headphones.

Suggestions? Thanks

Im planning on buying these headphones, but I am confused on buying an amplifier that can get all the way to 300 ohms. Most people recommend amps that output much less. I’m sure I’m missing something, but I’m not sure what… would anyone be willing to explain it to me? Thanks!

Hey guys, i need help with selecting between these two monsters. Understandably there are some tradeoffs between each of these. Any users care to share their inputs between these two? Thanks a bunch!

Hello guys, I am currently using a Logitech G Pro X headset and ever since I've tried using the DTS Super Stereo option inside the headset, that came with Logitech's "G HUB" software, I feel I fell in love with how it can make stereo audio sound through my headphones, as if the audio is coming out of speakers in front of me. Though I feel that I'm afraid that sooner or later, my headset is going to break, as I've sadly seen plastic parts break and fall off already after I think roughly three years of use.

Because of this, I would like to ask, if any of you have experience with this: do you guys know if I would be able to use DTS Super Stereo on any Headphone I would like to buy in the future, or some software similiar to this that can make audio sound similiar to DTS Super Stereo? I have tried looking for information concerning this online, but I feel I haven't found any post that answered my questions.

Thank you for your time and attention.

I have EQ'd my earphones by exporting from AutoEQ to both Equalizer APO and Wavelet. When I listen using APO the sound is great, but the same setting in Wavelet gives me crackling. Has anyone any idea why I would have such a difference? Thanks.
