I do not recommend voip.ms, they let you register and then wait a few weeks for verification.

Then, after nagging I suddenly get an email:

As an international VoIP service provider, we are committed to complying with the legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to our company in the jurisdictions where we conduct business, and we are advised to execute diligent security checks for all new accounts including, but not limited to, Know Your Customer (KYC) standards.

We regret to inform you that this account didn’t meet the security requirements and cannot be opened.

We really apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Thank you for your understanding.

Regards

Omar Garcia

VoIP.ms Customer Service

And when I asked if they want to see any license or such the reply I get is:

My apologies but we can disclose more in the procedures that the account department follow, I can only confirm that the account cannot be opened, my apologies again for the inconveniences.

Regards.

VoIP.ms Customer Service

Further replies leads to nowhere, there is no feedback at all, I just wanted to play around with FreePBX for incoming calls, which can hardly be used for nefarious purposes in itself.

The support sounds like coming from an bad type of AI-bot just replying the same nonsense over and over again.

They also denied me GDPR SAR of my data, which means if you DO send them your drivers license or such, and you are based in EU then they dont follow GDPR regulations at all!

So a shout out to everyone is to just stay away from this company!

Do unanswered call settings in teams apply to call queues? We are trying to configure busy to busy settings as users calls are going on hold when a new call comes in whilst already on call. If I set the busy to busy to use unanswered settings what happens? I believe the default unanswered setting is voicemail, correct me if I’m wrong. If the users unanswered settings are set to use voicemail will the caller be sent straight to voicemail or will the call continue to ring for others in the call queue to answer the call as we use attendant routing?

Is there any option for a supervisor to view the total logged in hours of an agent? Including the breakdown of the total "Not Ready Status" and "Ready Status" of the agent.

Good Afternoon

Maybe a bit of an odd question but as I've alluded to in other posts I'm in the process of swapping out phones form our legacy PBX to voip handsets on a hosted could solution.

We have some phones that are wall mounted and I've found with some that getting a standard cat 5/6 cable into the back of the phone and getting it flush on the wall is not easy.

Would cutting an old phone cable and putting RJ45's on it in a 10/100 pin out work?
Probably 30cm/12" or less just to get form a socket in the wall out to the handset?

Thanks

Grant

Hi guys,

Need your help on yeastar pabx. I have created one vlan for pabx and it is vlan 3. It is connected directly to HPE 5140 switch.

Right now the issue is to make it as voice vlan and data vlan. If i put vlan 3, the ip phone gets the DHCP but if i change it to voice vlan 3, it will stop working. Lets say i want to put it as voice data vlan 3 and data vlan 1.

Just need your guys advice on few things

  1. Does the pabx connected to HPE switch need to be trunk or access ? (mine is currently access if i put as trunk the pabx will not get the vlan 3 segmentation

  2. Does the ip phone need to be setup manually ? I believe it should be able to point to the pabx

Thank you.

Can anyone point me to a resource or explain how these are calculated? I want to start in compliance from dollar 1 if I can. I have 2 customers ready and I know I can line up others.

Normally I would operate as a telecom reseller but regulations basically push you into the provider category thanks to stir/shaken which is fine.

Let's say I'm reselling from Flowroute or Bandwidth. Do you have to always pull down the records of all the numbers for you customers every month and essentially apply math to everything and logic based on region/region instate/outofstate?

I just want to know what this normally looks like for most. Do those CDRs get sent off to a telecom tax place that turns them into something else? Does anyone do their own and have a way to process CSV's through automation?

I'm right up to the starting line of signing up customers but want to figure out the tax piece before billing anything.

I'm running a Digium Switchvox 355 physical PBX running Switchvox version 6.3.3 (82427). It has bee rock-solid for the most part, until recently.

Here's some of the issues we're experiencing:

  • When agents are dialing out, they're still receiving inbound calls
  • The Digium Switchvox dashboard numbers for received calls / missed calls is not accurate
  • Agents were still getting calls from the queue, even though they were marked not available or away
  • Voicemails were being delivered to user's individual mailboxes instead of the main queue shared email box

We were able to fix the last two issues by literally going into the extension queue settings, changing the wait time by 1 second and saving the config. It did manifest again, but the resolution has been to change queue time settings, save and problem resolved.

The other issues (inbound calls while dialing out and incorrect dashboard numbers) are persistent and I'm not sure what could be causing the issue.

The hardware is reporting the drives are not full, and there are two drives (probably in raid 1).

Have you guys encountered these types of issues before? Is there a way I can check the hard drive status to see if they're bad while the server is running?

Hi, I would appreciate your recommendations. We are a small, non-profit and we use a VOIP number for our organization. Everyone works from home. We would like to set up for texting on that phone strictly for verification purposes when one of us has to prove we have access rights to a particular account. We'd rather not have the account verification associated with one particular individual.

Since our usage is so limited, I was wondering if you know of a really inexpensive texting support company or if you might have any suggestions for another way to simplify our verification process? Right now we have to reach out to a volunteer to watch for an incoming text so we can get make sure the verification happens. Thanks for your help! We appreciate it.

Bear with me here, because I know this is going to sound crazy. And yes, Even though I have had experience with SIP, I don't think I have ever had to deal with what I am about to ask now.

Lets say you have 2 polycom phones sitting in a box, brand new. Lets then say that some people like these phones so much that they think it might be a great idea to get more of them! Pretty cool, right? your first major project that was a win was getting rid of their super old Shortel system and moving to the same provider as your ISP. From 100 desk phones...to 5! thats a cost savings, right?

Well, We have 4 desk phones that are actually in use on the ISPs VOIP Platform. this is all good :)

One day, someone comes to you and says "Hey Flat-Entry90, I like those phones. I'd like to be able to use one kinda sorta like an intercom! you know, I'll have one in my office, and joe-schmo will have one in materials office, and Karen will have one in HR. I want to pick up the phone, hit the button, and then have the other phone ring" And now 2 un-opened polycom phones are on your desk.

I understand that SIP is needed to facilitate calling, but I'm trying to find a way to see if "intercom/walkie-talkie/phone to phone on the LAN" mode is a thing, or a way to say....ehhh "nahhh gotta pay the ISP more for another user".

I was thinking I might be able to make something work via Teams, but I cannot get a license for additional features/ direct routing.

I hope this was understandable.

Hello, hope everything is good.

So recently inherited a customer which has a self-hosted Issabel PBX with about 15 users, really small company.

For the past few days outgoing calls have been dropped at exactly 21 seconds, calls connect and you can hear the person on the other side of the line but at exactly 21 seconds call is dropped.

Fairly new to VOIP in general specially with this PBX, any tip greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the firmware update (Android 12) that should be coming for the AudioCodes C470HD.

Seen the following in a press release and was hoping someone had some information regarding this,

506 Product Notice - Native Teams Devices for Android 12 (audiocodes.com)

It said it was supposed to land by September 30th and would be available in TAC (Teams Admin Center) & AudioCodes Device Manager.

Haven't seen anything in either,

Due the constant sign out issues with these I have folks clamoring to replace them with Yealink MP56 which have been rock solid for us. I keep saying that the update is coming but I don't think it is at this point.

Thanks,

My client wants the manager to be able to hear an ongoing conversation in his phone between the agent and customer on a call. Is there an option in grandstream?

Hey guys,

We are an MSP looking for a VOIP solution for our client. We stumbled across CallHippo and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them and how was it?

They seem to be flexible with their price and also give good margins for partners.
