Get two dishwashers and as dishes get dirty they migrate from one to the other. Never put them into or take them out of another useless non-washing cabinet again.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 15 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Good idea.

Make the dish cabinet ANOTHER dishwasher.

[–] okwhateverdude@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Exactly! It is so dumb that we're schlepping dishes into useless cabinets.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 8 points 3 days ago

Cabinets where they get dusty.

My in laws went the alternative route and made their dishwasher a storage cabinet!

Small town white Canadians haha. I don't really know why but apparently they don't like using dishwashers and just prefer to have the extra storage space

This is a joke, but not really. For what, under $10,000 can be free of putting dishes away forever.... Might literally do this with 3-4 dishwashers. Any actual downside?

[–] okwhateverdude@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Mostly just need to figure out the plumbing and power. And running multiple at the same time might cause water pressure issues, but that would only be while they are filling/rinsing. There is also associated maintenance costs (would be spread out over multiple machines, so probably a wash (ha)).

SIDE BONUS: one machine breaks down, got a backup one. This might not be a terrible idea 🤔
