Already posted and searched. It's AI.

Note the weird artifact in front of their left shoulder.

Edit: Note also how fucking unnaturally buoyant the floatation device is.

[–] warbond@lemmy.world 16 points 2 days ago (2 children)

If you've ever been on one you know that even being slightly off center is going to spill you into the water. I doubt a gator could even get on a floaty long ways like that

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 12 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Also the sliding door that opens directly into the pool.

[–] balsoft@lemmy.ml 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Honestly that sounds really nice.

[–] MelodiousFunk@slrpnk.net 3 points 2 days ago (2 children)

It's great until it rains a little too hard, and then you've got pool tea seeping into the carpet.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Or until you need to get out of the pool.

[–] huquad@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I toured a house that did exactly this. No clue how they got that through code

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I bet they added the room as an addition themselves after the pool was already there.

[–] huquad@lemmy.ml 1 points 23 hours ago

Not in this case, though I have seen that before. They had a super tiny backyard and decided to force a pool to fit.

[–] warbond@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Haha, that didn't even register!

[–] Dultas@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

That and they'd probably slash it open trying.

[–] gandalf_der_13te@feddit.org 6 points 2 days ago

oh yeah you're right. at first i thought it was just a very shallow pool, but that doesn't make sense. you can see stairs leading into it.

This image is not AI. AI images were not a thing in 2018. It would be real, or photo edited by a human.

[–] Redjard@reddthat.com 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I think that date is incorrect. Probably an old post and this new post/image appears in the recommendations/feed.
In general I find those dates on search results increasingly unreliable.

[–] CanadianCarl@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Yeah, you are 100% correct. I didn't know that earlier.

[–] Zorcron@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

This is the original as far as I can tell based on a reverse image search. https://www.tumblr.com/aboutoriginality/812499451491024896

That page is basically all AI images. It may have happened for real before, but this picture is definitely AI gen.

Edit: and it has a positive synthID from Gemini.

[–] Trampampoline@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

Al-igator, lol, nice one.

[–] GroundedGator@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

The condition of that pool water is that of a long abandoned pool and it would take months without chemicals and filtration to get to that point. Or one fuck you flooding event.

Pools in this condition absolutely exist, but you typically would not find a manicured lawn or relatively decent lawn furniture. The concrete is also pretty clean for such filth.

Lastly, that little swamp puppy would be more likely to fight that novelty floaty than try to go for a ride and not because it looks like him, but because it's something I'm the water that might be a threat.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Did we really need confirmation that this was AI?
