How sensitive is the part that the lenses goes on top of? (alien.top)

I just got a camera (canon 250d) and whenever I take the lense off the body I get all sweaty and afraid I’ll break it by using too much force. Im always careful with it and I noticed the small square on both the body and lense but I just want to know how sensitive it is. Can I scratch or damage anything if I place the lense wrong on the first try? I’m always thinking I’ll break it if I use too much pressure or twist too much, too little.

Well, you can go to eBay right now and buy any number of utterly ancient SLR cameras, and whatever might be wrong with them, it’s never the lens mount, so…
