Just shown on the Warriors half time show. Kerr and Scott Foster are talking and Kerr decided to walk away, Foster decides to walk after him to keep arguing. Never seen that before, would love the clip. Thanks

might be a dumb question but why can’t the players association protest against the refereeing? players are the product, i find it hard to believe they can’t put a stop to the power trip the refs are on.

again idk anything about how associations work (neither players nor referees), looking to hear from people more informed on this topic

What do you think the solution to refs missing calls is? Did you know the NBA refs are statistically more accurate than refs at any level? During the red lockout or whatever it was in the NFL it was a total shit show when we had another line of refs, fans were begging for them to return.

[–] tr1vve@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

There is literally a 0% chance you have any statistics to back that up. You’re pulling that straight from your ass.

It's not about missing calls it's about a long history literally throwing out game changing fouls, techs and ejections for seemingly personal slights against certain players and nothing concrete or against the rules.

[–] BruinBound22@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Can you give me examples of these personal slights where players are being ejected for things not against the rules? There's a long history your said right?

look up Joey Crawford

Is laughing on the bench against the rules?

[–] SomeGuyClickingStuff@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Speaking of calls. How many did Foster have with Donaughy before games?

If anyone is actually interested and not just on the "I hate refs" hype train, this is a good article to start:

[–] IliketheNBA@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

That was a garbage article that busted zero myths lol

I'm assuming if the players protest against the reffing, the ref association is gonna throw up a stinker and then protest themselves that they're being unfairly targeted by players, coaches, and fans. Then they're gonna boycott being at the games themselves. It's a tricky slope unfortunately

Good luck.

The problem no one wants to admit is there isn't a secret cabal of great refs out there. These are the best refs, and they can get far worse

[–] Hot_Idea1066@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Fiba refs are quite a bit better, and they don't have this "hood tendencies" that NBA refs have

[–] ThexxxDegenerate@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Should we just sit back and let these power tripping refs be assholes just because they are the best? There needs to be some form of discipline for this. They are literally ruining the product when they act like this.

[–] Iceraptor17@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

There is discipline. They just don't openly flog them.

[–] FoldOk6269@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Maybe that's the problem. Bring Dwight Howard back and let him get nasty with the bad refs

[–] BLaZe_Jeffey@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

There's a good chance many of the players are involved in this whole refball/gambling scheme tbh

[–] OkBuddyErennary@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Maybe star players are okay with it when the refs favor them? At least some of them should be okay
