unfortunately by the nature of editing and publishing, books are going to be behind the times by a good amount. with how quickly our rights are being eroded, you can look to them for foundational knowledge, but nothing cutting-edge or legally up to date.

however, if you're going into the extremes that bazzell does in his book, getting at least one good lawyer is inescapable. that's how you stay up to date with how things actually work at a state and federal level, not some random people like myself on Lemmy.

I wouldn't say it is too far out of date, having just gone through all of it in the past few months. That said, Bazzell does provide a lot of smaller updates in his Unredacted magazine articles. I believe he said he is no longer planning to update the book because he couldn't afford to take the time since the book was being torrented a bit too much (I might be misrembering). Either way, his magazine is really good too. I became a big fan of his after that first book.
