Yeah, and they've been kinda shitty in various forums, too. Can't always be a beacon of hope, I guess.
That said, it seems to be a fairly lively scene, with many new teams popping in every month. I, for one, welcome these anonymous freedom fighters, no matter their number, gender, or background. 🤞🏼

Denuvo has done some homework, though. The filing lists a Discord user ID, a Reddit account and seven Steam profiles that it believes are linked to the cracker.
Denuvo hopes the information linked to these accounts will eventually unmask the cracker. Games have to be bought before they can be cracked, for example, and Steam purchases come with payment details.
I hope this person has good OPSEC.
FWIW, untold numbers of people share their sanitized Steam files for the greater good. Very few, if any, well-known "crackers" purchase all of the games they help do what it says on their tin.
This claim by Denuvo is not just asinine, but proves even further that they're absolute idiots in their field. 🙄
For anyone unfamiliar, I strongly recommend Michael Bazzell's book Extreme Privacy for a fantastic entry into this world. It covers much more than your typical OPSEC stuff, but it is thorough, well written, and fun to learn about.
unfortunately by this point a lot of the more 'extreme' things are outdated. the first few chapters remain a decent starting point.

If it's not a saleable good/product, it doesn't qualify as theft when someone acquires it from a different source than one's "store", etc.
In a similar vein, the vast majority of "craft distillers" do nothing other than water down (aka "proofing") the bulk distillate they'd purchased from Jack Daniels, et al, and the simple fact that doing so makes it a saleable product enables them to claim "Produced and bottled in (location)", and people just slurp it down... 🤷🏼♂️

Honestly, no single malware tanks gaming performance anywhere near the levels that this shit does. It's closer to the characteristics of game cancer.
I like voices38; they allowed me to finish AC Shadows because the story ending is hidden behind DLC

Yup, the story doesn't really finish at the end of the main questline but even the dlc ending felt kinda unfinished.
Gotta leave the door open for even more dlc if the corporate overlords decree it.

Its funny how the free market is only good when it benefits capitalists. The moment someone makes them lose money competition is over and its time to sue others
they are NOT losing money. I would never buy this garbage to begin with. I'd pirate it to try it, but once I saw how utter shit they are I wouldn't even play the pirated copies.

It's denuvo suing, in a sense if the uncrackable game service they claim is now crackable, they will lose customers
but this is like advertising you are the best and then sue anyone that is better to maintain your position

Funny sentence I had to do a double-take on
As far as we know, this is the first time Denuvo has sued a cracker in a U.S. court
If voices38 has any sense, they've got a couple weeks to wipe all their data clean and consult some lawyers before going ":o oh no I didn't realise I was being sued guess it's not spoliation". No way this gets anywhere on actual merit of facts.
