Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person or their instance. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on. Keep on-topic
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

It's a serious question. Why are you not protecting your own national interests -- finally -- instead of relying on the US to do it for you?

So roll that idea that the US is some global influence for safety into a tight little ball, soak it in the oil of all the wars that 'Murica wanted to keep control of the flow of cheap fuel (your fuel is cheap, you're just used to shitty vehicles and an utter lack of awareness about the rest of the world) and shove it waaaaaay up your arsehole

The old world order is OVER. Point your ire at your own corrupt government, which going by your spelling of your character is the UK. If so, you got NO leg to stand on, son. How's that special relationship working out for you? How's Brexit these days? Try not reframing someone else's argument to prop up a US-reliant narrative like the rest of the colonialists. The entire world full of humans relies on cooperation and trust between allies. I don't think "shouldn't have relied on us" is a good narrative, nor is your idea the US is somehow overspending its resources helping the world instead its own people, it most certainly isn't and never has, capitalists have fucked allies and countrymen alike for profit.
If a dear friend punches you in the face, don't ask why not punch back, think about healing and making sure it doesn't happen again.
Dude i AM an American, My entire family and myself have served in some capacity either directly or indriectly to help this nation, its interests and has a history deeply tied all the way back to the revolutionary war. Protecting our national interests and morals is something that my family has been doing for generations even when they where less then ideal interests and morals because of the belief that our home is worth protecting and fighting for.
It doesn't matter what side of the border you are on. If you think its fucking reasonable to demand trust and forgiveness instantly on cheap words alone. Then you are a god damn child who needs to grow the actual fuck up. An adult can actually understand that if you fucking hit someone repeatedly and and abuse them. They won't trust you after. Because that is how people work. It doesn't matter if you defend them from other bullies, or help them when they are down. If all you also abuse them along the way.
America has been nothing but an abusive partner defending and providing aid with one hand, while threatening and harming with the other. For decades now, it was only our absolute iron grip on large chunks of the global economy and codependency we curated that tied countries to us. Now that many of those ties have loosened others are standing on their own two feet and trying to have an actual healthy relationship with the USA, or distancing from us entirely. Which IS their choice. They owe us NOTHING.
No country owes another country ANYTHING but the respect its due. And when the USA can prove it deserves that respect again THEN we can start bitching we arn't getting it. But we arn't there right now.
