And who have apparently assimilated so well into US society that they have no idea what communism actually is anymore. A democrat vote is still miles away from anything even remotely resembling communism.

When I was a teenager that started follow the politics of the US, I was extremely confused about the Republicans calling the left liberals, because our liberals were center-right.

It took me a few years to stumble upon the Overton window (without using that name at that time).

It's only loosely connected with the Overton window, they just don't know what the actual word means so it means "Democrat" to them.
