Sounds about right! Costco does not issue official Government ID'.
Ask your self "Would the accept Costco card in another country?".

They used to. I literally got my passport at a Costco.

Yeah; it used to be something you could get done in the photo department. They take the picture, file the paperwork and print out the passport.

It’s the Kirkland Passport - it’s actually just a rebranded US passport, but cheaper, and only Costco is allowed to sell it.

No. US passports have been made overseas for years (decades?)

Technically they would allow it, seeing as costco is a worldwide company.

Now how you enter that other country is a bit more problematic.
