I understand that teams in these contracts are paying for future production, not past production. If I’m going to give you like $100M, I’d like to have some past production. Patrick Williams has done some stuff, but like that’s just… if that’s the number, if that ends up being true and the Vassell deal ends up being the comp that his agents go to, that’s a lot of cheese.

Starting about 32 minutes into The Lowe Post.

Isn’t 4/100 a horrendous overpay as it is

Bulls fans have been hyping him up for years as this guy with major potential. He’s just not that good. A bunch of players that got drafted in drafts after his are all ready so much better than him

He was the youngest player in the league when he was drafted and he missed almost his entire second year with injury. He's still a huge work in progress. That doesn't mean he's necessarily worth 25m+ a year, but it's not a surprise that guys drafted more recently have better production.

I would say in the current it might be a slight overpay for his on court value, but the defense and somewhat consistent shooting alongside potential upside to get better might raise that number somewhat

$25m is going to be less than 15% of the luxury tax line next year and only going to go down. So no it really isn't an overpay

10-15% cap for a guy that's a solid bench piece on a contender isnt great

He’s still 22. A lot of guys don’t start hitting their stride until the middle of their second contract
